       About Us

The Probus Men's Club of Burlington is an association of semi-retired or retired persons who join together in autonomous Clubs throughout the world.

The Probus Club of Burlington was founded in 1987 with an emphasis on those of like mind and interests rather than on professional or business status for membership, the name is an acronym for Pro(fessional)and Bus(iness). We meet the third Thursday of every month at the Burlington Public Library, 2331 New Street, from 10AM to Noon, to listen to interesting speakers about informative topics, fellowship and a good cup of coffee.

We are a group of older young at heart men who enjoy various activities such as golf, curling, hiking, computers and traveling to various events acrosss Southern Ontario. Interested, then check us out.

Semi Retirement or Retirement

Semi-retirement or retirement can come too early for many people who want and are able to remain active.  Probus Clubs are organizations for men and women who have retired or are semi-retired from their profession or business and want to maintain a social network with others who have similar interests.  Each Probus Club is sponsored by an existing Probus Club and meets at least once a month for fellowship and to hear interesting guest speakers.  Today, there are over 300,000 members in approximately 4,000 Probus Clubs world wide.

The involvement of a Probus sponsoring club with Probus Club varies.  Probus Clubs typically approach retired and semi-retired candidates in their community and organize the formation of a club.
